Home  /  Careers  /  *OPEN* Database Administrator Return to Previous Page *OPEN* Database Administrator Job Reference #: X06283 Responsibilities: We have an immediate requirement for a Database Administrator to join our Network Services / Operations team. the successful DB will have solid communication skills: English, written and verbal and will be required to maintain and build on current documentation of DB structures and interactions. The DB will also possess the following skills and experience: Requirements: Min 5 years experience as a Microsoft SQL DBA . Strong knowledge/experience of Microsoft SQL product SQL 2000 and 2005 experience preferred Experience with large, high transaction, high availability DBs. Strong knowledge/experience of Microsoft Reporting Server product 2005 Strong knowledge/experience of replication as implemented in Microsoft SQL Strong knowledge/experience of TSQL Experience with 3rd party application data translation/importation techniques an asset Experience with EMC clustering solution an asset Experience with Great Plains or ERP applications an asset Some knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio / Source Safe Additional: Provide DBA support for a large MS SQL cluster, and several standalone MS SQL DBs, checking and maintaining performance and DB health. Monitor and maintain integration tools which transfer data from the primary tem to the application DBs Monitor and maintain DB backup processes Monitor and maintain transfer of data between DBs via replication and log shipping Develop and/or assist in the development of Stored Procedures to handle reporting and s to all database applications Manage bulk data uploads to primary database Create and run ad hoc data manipulation SQL to handle non-standard data s. Work with various groups within the company to define requirements and specs for new tools/new integration needs. Maintain and deploy code in Production , QA and Development environments. Execute performance tuning procedures on the DB’s.
