Drivers offered in-cab e-faxing
MyFax helps keep drivers on the road.

OTTAWA 06/19/2007 - These days truckers can do just about anything from the cab on their trucks. Now, with a good wireless connection, they can take care of that daily paper-based task: Faxing.

Carriers and owner-ops rely on faxing to exchange necessary contracts and paperwork -- often a time-consuming process. Drivers, for instance, might have to wait in line for a fax machine at a truckstop only to wait to process each sheet of paper that needs to be sent or received.

The MyFax Internet fax service has an alternate solution by allowing customers to transmit their documents on the go, via the Internet.

As faxed contracts come in, customers print them out using the combination printer/scanner kept in the cab of the truck. After reviewing the documents, they can be signed and scanned back into the computer. From there they can be faxed back to the client using MyFax.

Faxing at a typical truckstop can cost as much as $3 per page. The MyFax account allows drivers to send 100 and receive 200 pages a month for just $10.

Easy document management is another benefit. Documents are stored by MyFax for one year and can be recalled by simply typing a keyword while on the MyFax Internet service webpage.
